Wilson Beh Wei Chean
As a FinTech champion and advocate, Wilson Beh’s 3 years of extensive corporate advisory experience as an investment banker in the 4th largest bank in South East Asia, Maybank Investment Bank brought him in-depth understanding and comprehension towards the entire wholesale banking ecosystem and the latest trend impacting the financial services industry. He advices leading conglomerates and Forbes 500 companies in South East Asia and Greater China and was involved in a number of notable acquisition financing, cross-border financing and syndicated loan transactions.
Apart from being a full-time investment banking professional, Wilson has strong and proven track record in entrepreneurship. He was the inaugural international champion of Maybank Go Ahead Challenge, which is an international business competition modelled after The Apprentice and he was recognised as a Golden Key International Honorary Member in youth and entrepreneurship empowerment.
He was elected as the President of Malaysian Alumni of American Exchange Programs (“MAAP”), a 6,000 individual strong alumni platform with the focus in entrepreneurship and education and it is supported by the US Embassy in KL and the US Department of State. His involvement and contribution to the ecosystem has earned him opportunities to represent Malaysia to meet President Clinton and President Obama as well as Vice President Joe Biden in Marrakech, Morocco.
He is the Co-Founder of Next Money KL and his past working experiences include working for a leading regional bank in Singapore and the World Bank in Washington D.C. He was sponsored by the Fulbright Commission to study Finance in Marymount University, Virginia, U.S.A.
Lee Yen Ming
Yen Ming has more than 15 years of accomplishment-laden experience comprising brand development, marketing, sales, digital, channel management, research, customer relationship and new product development. He has vast experience in driving acquisition, portfolio, usage and retention.
Yen Ming joined Standard Chartered in 2013 spearheading the digital marketing team in ensuring effective execution and communication deliverables across all digital media whilst optimizing advertising & promotions investment and drive efficiency in online advertising. He plays a crucial role in growing digital equity for the bank through owned, paid and earned media.
Prior to this, he was in Maxis for more than 6 years being exposed to various aspects of the business. He was assigned to the Postpaid mobile consumer division where he was responsible in driving the awareness and adoption of value-added services amongst Postpaid customers. He has been instrumental in increasing revenue for the Postpaid business by driving data service adoption via packaging relevant services for different consumer segments. He worked across different business lines to further strengthen brand value, raise service standards, customer touch points and create differentiation in driving profitable growth for the device business. He has been a strategic and key contributor in delivering more than RM0.5 billion in revenue yearly for Maxis..
Leveraging on his exposure to various business areas in different institutions, he proved time and again his flexibility in adapting to change and undertaking different roles and tasks that were laid out for him. He has been successful in his endeavours and has shown tremendous effort in achieving greater heights in his life. Quickly distinguishing himself as a leader, in less than 2 years, he was fast tracked into the management role. As a leader, he is known for his support for employee empowerment, recognition and development.
As a FinTech and tech enthusiast, he is also the Co-Founder of Next Money KL. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Strathclyde Business School and received his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (1st Class Honours) from University of Malaya. He was awarded the top engineering student award in University of Malaya.
Jason has been active in many areas, namely FinTech, banking, financial services, digital marketing and education industry. He holds a Masters of International Business and Bachelor of Laws and had attended executive programmes in strategy and management with Cambridge Judge Business School.
Jason is currently the Global Chapters Director for Next Money, the biggest, broadest and fastest growing FinTech (Financial Technology) community, present in more than 45 cities with over 10,000 members. He is responsible for the on-boarding and growth of new city chapters across the globe. Before this role, Jason was the Asia-Pacific Lead and Chapter Lead for Next Money Kuala Lumpur.
He and his team developed Next Money Kuala Lumpur in October 2015 and in a short span of a few months, grew the community to more than 1,000 members. Jason's thoughts on FinTech has been featured on Bloomberg TV Malaysia and various mainstream and online media publications. He is familiar with working with the private and public sector including startups, regulators and incubator/accelerator programmes. Jason has also been a mentor with StartupBootcamp FinTech programmes and the SecondStartup IoT and FinTech accelerator. He also a director of Consortio, a commercialisation consultancy to bridge businesses, build capacity and birth ecosystems globally through management consulting support for these businesses.
Prior to joining Next Money, Jason came from the banking industry with Standard Chartered Bank and had work experience with the CEO’s office, Group Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Branch Distribution alongside having business exposure in Singapore, Dubai, Philippines and Brunei. He started through the bank’s International Graduate programme and was in a cohort of 150 graduates from 27 countries as part of a programme for high potential employees.
Jason is passionate about building strategic partnerships to develop an all-win situation for everyone. Apart from this, he is also interested in ideas which not just solves a problem but adds value to society and he is a regular seminar speaker on financial literacy and social impact. He has spoken in different capacities in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, India and various parts of Malaysia.
